Welcome to this week’s edition of:
A View from the Hill
This is your weekly memo on all that is going on at the Park Hill Raquet Club this week. Sorry that this is coming a little later in the day then usual, I was busy hugging my cat. Why would I do that you may ask. Well as you know today is National Hug Your Cat Day! So if you haven’t already, take a little time to embrace your little bundle of furry joy. Of course, if they don’t want to be hugged, you may need some Band-Aids. (For those dog owners, don’t feel left out, it is also International Corgi Day).
Onto the events of the week.
POOL:
The Pool Committee earlier today sent out the notice that due to the beautiful warm weather predicted for tomorrow, the pool will be open tomorrow (Thursday June 5th) from 3 to 7PM. Not to be outdone, the Bar Committee followed suit and the Member’s Lounge will also be open from 3 to 7 (and you do not have to swim in the pool to enjoy a refreshing beverage).
The pool will also be open on the regulars Saturday and Sunday pre-end of school schedule.
TENNIS:
Free Tennis Guests Week is under way. Now through Sunday June 8th we are promoting our club by opening our courts to guests. Members may bring guests for free during that week, subject to the regular club policy that a single guest may play on the courts no more than two times per month (with a limit of eight times for the season).
French Open Brunch: This Sunday (June 8th) at 9 AM, come join your fellow members (and their guests) to watch the French Open Men’s Final in the Member’s Lounge. Reply to the e-vit sent earlier this week.
Also on Sunday (which is turning out to be Tennis Tennis Tennis) our Sunday afternoon Fun Round Robin starts at 4PM. A great opportunity for new members to meet other players and friends at the club, and for old friends to play tennis together. Drop a line to parkhillracquetclub@gmail.com to get on the list.
Our MITL and WCTL teams continue their season. The WCTL Sticky division team has a home Match this coming Sunday at 11:30 against Pleasantville on out famous Clay courts. Stick around after the French Open Brunch to cheer on our team.
As a friendly reminder, here is the Link to the google sheet for reserving courts:

Although the weather is finally starting to act like June and the tennis courts buzzing away with activitiy, Pickleball, that once dead of winter sport continues. If you are looking to get in on the action, please reach out to Karin Skalina at k.skalina@gmail.com. From beginner to expert, all are welcome!
KIDS ROOM UPDATE:
The room for our youngest members is rounding the curve and in the final stretch, ready to be the go to destination when shool ends towards the end of this month. The Kid’s Art day held on Memorial day resulted in over a half dozen masterpieces to adorn the freshly painted walls. Curtains are being hemmed and fresh baseboards are trining out the walls. When you are at the club, pop your head in and marvel at its transformation.
