Summer Bowling League Recap

For 6 weeks each Tuesday in July and August, 16 members descended on the alleys for our first annual Summer Bowling League.  Veteran bowlers and first time bowlers alike had lots of fun. 

With just two points racked up in the first three weeks the Lebowski’s needed to get it together.  One by one Capt. April Feldman, Patty Gamba, Kristen Napoli and Dorota Adamek started improving their scores, winning 21 points in the last 3 weeks to capture 1st place with a two point margin.  The King Pins with Capt. Matthew Feldman, Tom “Westy” Westmoreland, Susanne Savard and Marie Fitzgerald tied for 2nd with The Strikers: Deane Prouty, Bob Reape, Karla Alvarado and Lesley O’Keefe.  The Bowlerinas - Jill Feldman, Karen Lorence, Lois Reape and Liz Malave - finished close behind in 4th Place.  Cheering, hugging and High Fives were plentiful for teammates as well as opponents.   Look out veterans!  With “newbie” scores improving each week we have some new competition at the club.

I’d like to thanks Fred for keeping our scores and averages up to date, helping with the lanes and subbing almost every week.  Thanks to Maura Laverty, Jon Wallen, Todd Ruben, Jose Alvarado, Steve Savard, and Paul Cecere for subbing as needed.  (Even Ceeba got in on the action!)   And last but not least I thank our bartenders for quenching our thirsts those long, hot summer nights.     April Feldman

  There seems to be an interest in continuing through the winter, meeting on Friday nights once or twice a month.   We just need someone to step up and take charge.  If you’re interested in running another informal league, contact our Bowling Chairman, Jon Wallen at jwall41@aol.com.
