Kids' Halloween Party Report

Kids’ Halloween Party - The sun shone brightly on our ghosts, goblins and munchkins for this annual invite-the-neighbors event.  The ballroom was filled with folks and faeries, all ready for a fun-filled afternoon!  After meeting, greeting and eyeing each others’ costumes, our children took some time at the craft table – sticking faces on paper machier balloon “pumpkins”.  Plenty of spooky music kept kids hopping, bopping and dancing.  Nora Beirne, with the club’s giant pumpkin hoisted above, then led the parade of witches, princesses, storm troopers, transformers and many more out and around the block for the neighborhood to view.  The pizzas arrived in the nick of time to fuel another round of general mayhem.  After everyone gobbled up a cupcake (or two!), balloons were passed around and the kids settled in for the magic show.  Our tots were all sent home flushed and satisfied with goodie bags and mini pumpkins in hand.  It was a wonderful party.

We thank all of our volunteers who put in lots of time and work – making the “pumpkins”, purchasing the (real) pumpkins, cupcakes, pizza, crafts, etc., decorating, setting tables, checking the door, handing out pizza and cupcakes, handling children, clearing tables, washing dishes, etc, etc., to make the day so special:  Kristine Brower, Maireid Casey, Angelo Costanzo, Anne Marie Ennis, Jill Feldman, Patty Gamba, Elizabeth Malave, Susan Proano, and Patty Schumann.  Special thanks go to our Chairperson Dorota Adamek, who did a fabulous first-time job of handling everything.  Nice work!
