Fathers' Day BBQ

Approximately 60 people including children enjoyed the intermittent rain showers and three hour window of actual sunshine at the first Father's Day BBQ held at the Racquet Club on Sunday June 21.


It was a virtual smorgasbord of grilled steaks, ribs, shrimp, burgers and dogs prepared and cooked by the dads.  There was a taste-bud-tingling variety of side dishes including but not limited to baked beans, warm potato salad with bacon, pasta salad and corn on the cob.  An abundant array of desserts was provided by the moms, many made from scratch.   Our very well-behaved children make their contribution to the cause – by doing a lot of the eating!


Everyone had such a great time and felt right at home – so much so that they left behind a number of personal items.  An interesting string of emails ensued regarding a lost cake server, cell phone, sunglasses, etc. for two days following the event!
