Chili Cook Off 2010

An intimate group of 25 adults and kids gathered to taste 7 chili entries at our 4th Annual Chili Cook Off.  About seven unmarked* entries competed.  There were plenty of fixins' to dress up the chilis - chopped onions, cheeses, sour cream and a Mexican-style sour cream "la crema".  A side of guacamole and chips helped cleanse the palate between tastings.  A selection of scrumptious after-dinner sweets finished off the evening.

William Krawiec and Larry Feldman tied for 1st Place with Paul Cecere's chili getting 2nd (well, technically it's 3rd). The winning chili chefs were awarded their decorated Tocques (or chef's hats for those of you unfamiliar with the vernacular).  Our deepest thanks go to Karin White for doing everything - organizing, setting up and cleaning too! - and thereby giving us a fun event to look forward to each winter!

*Paul's recipe was accompanied by a waiver (drawn up by friend Joe Harbeson, Esq.) denying the club's responsibility for any and all reactions to the heat generated by all those hot peppers!  So thanks for spilling the beans, Joe.  (No pun intended.)
